VeryCapture ("we" or "the Software") takes your privacy and the security of your personal information very seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect your personal information, as well as the rights you are entitled to.

The core features of the Software — including local screenshots, local screen recording, GIF recording, and image annotation — are all processed locally on your device. No network connection is required, and you do not need to provide any personal information. We do not actively collect or upload your screenshots or screen recordings.

1.2 Information Collected When Using Cloud-Based Features

If you use features that may involve cloud processing, such as OCR text recognition or translation, the relevant information will need to be processed through third-party services, and we may therefore collect the following information:

• Submitted content: The images and text you submit for OCR recognition or translation will be temporarily transmitted to a third-party service provider for processing. We do not retain such content after processing is complete;
• Processing results: The recognition or translation results returned by the third-party service;
• Device information: Basic information such as operating system version and device model, used to ensure the normal provision of the service.

1.3 Information Collected to Improve Product Experience

To continuously optimize product features and user experience, we may collect anonymized software usage statistics, including: feature usage frequency, crash logs, etc. Such statistical information does not contain your sensitive personal information and will not be used to identify your personal identity.

1.4 Special Notes on Collecting and Using Personal Information

We do not actively collect, store, or transmit your screenshot files, screen recording files, or your annotation content in the Software — this content is always saved in the specified path on your local device and managed by you. We also do not sell any of your information to third parties.

If future versions introduce new features such as an account system or cloud storage that involve collecting additional personal information, we will separately seek your explicit consent.

2. How We Share, Transfer, and Disclose Your Personal Information

2.1 Sharing

We do not share your personal information with any company, organization, or individual, except in the following circumstances:

• OCR and translation services: When you actively use the OCR or translation features, we transmit the images/text you submit to a third-party service provider for processing. We only share the necessary information for this specific purpose, and the third-party service provider is bound by its own privacy policy. We recommend that you understand the relevant third party's privacy practices.
• Legal requirements: Pursuant to legal provisions, litigation, or mandatory requirements from judicial authorities, we may be required to share your personal information externally.

2.2 Transfer

We do not transfer your personal information to any company, organization, or individual, except in the following circumstances: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer that results in a change of the Software's operating entity, we will require the new entity holding your personal information to continue to be bound by this policy.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The Software is a desktop application and does not involve common web cookie technology. If future versions add a web client or related services, corresponding terms will be added at that time.

4.1 Technical Security Measures

We adopt generally accepted industry security measures to protect your personal information, including but not limited to: encrypted data transmission (for content that needs to be uploaded). Since the main features of the Software run locally, your screenshots and screen recording files are always saved on your device, and you are responsible for their security.

4.2 Retention Period of Personal Information

For information that must be collected to achieve functional purposes (such as device information), we retain it only during the period of product use, and anonymize or delete it when it is no longer needed. For images and text you submit through cloud service features, we delete them immediately after processing is complete and do not retain them.

4.3 Data Localization

The core data of the Software (screenshots, screen recordings, annotations, etc.) is saved in the specified storage path on your local device and is not uploaded to any server. You can modify the save location in the software settings as needed.

Under applicable personal information protection laws and regulations, you are entitled to the following rights:

Since the current version of VeryCapture does not require you to register an account and essentially does not collect your personal information, the scenarios for exercising the above rights are limited. We attach great importance to the protection of minors' personal information. If you are a minor under the age of 14, it is recommended that you read this policy under the guidance of your parents or guardians, and use the Software with the consent of your parents or guardians. We do not actively collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Without your explicit consent, we will not diminish the rights you enjoy under this policy.
